Joining Food Not Bombs is as simple as signing up to the mailing list.
The mailing list is the primary way of organization. The weekly sign-up, and all special events and notices are coordinated by e-mail over the list, which is run from WPIRG's server, so your e-mail address won't go where you don't want it.
